Schools : How Does the Licensing Programme Work?
- Application to become an accredited IYT training facility must be made to our World Headquarters in Ft. Lauderdale Florida.
- Partner Licensing is available on two levels: Level 1 Covers Modules 1 through 17 up to International Bareboat Captain/Skipper Examination. Level 2 Covers all Modules 1 through 21 and includes the International Master of Yacths Coastal, Offshore and Ocean Courses.
- The school or college will be subject to a facility and vessel inspection report based on the personnel, quality and extent of facilities and instructional capabilities. Quality control is paramount and only the finest of schools will be invited to participate in this programme.
- Partner Licencing is available for a one-year period only and are renewable annually following inspection.
- In order to maintain the programmes integrity and ensure consistent and unbiased evaluation, all Master of Yachts Instructors must meet IYT's performance criteria. Potential instructors must complete IYT instructor training courses and/ or a personal interview with IYT Training Board personnel, and /or hold suitable qualifications to the standard to which he/she is training.
- The IYT Master of Yachts programme is designed to be non competitive with existing programmes but rather as an overlay to existing courses.
- By offering IYT International courses, schools may benefit from additional revenue streams
