Schools : Partner School Requirements
In order to qualify for partnership status the candidate school must:
- Operate from premises accessible to the public, which are consistent with the planning regulations of the country or state in which they are located.
- Be a satisfactory legal identity and can provide the necessary processes for the administration of the programme.
- The Principal or Chief Instructor of the school must hold an IYT Instructor Qualification up to the levels offered.
- Comply with all national and local law regarding business licenses.
- Ensure that the centre carries a minimum Liability insurance of $2.0 million or other level to be agreed.
- Conform to the standards of presentation and image consistent with IYT's corporate worldwide image.
- Ensure all staff are knowledgeable about the IYT Training programme, are well presented, well dressed and courteous.
- Own or have a long term lease or charter agreement on a suitable vessel compliant with national legislation.
Centre Requirements:
- The school should have office and classroom (including toilets) facilities which must be clean comfortable and conducive to instruction. The classroom must include as a minimum, desks and chairs for the number of students, TV, Video, white board and projector.
- Supplies of stationery and suitable equipment are to be available for students attending courses.
- An adequate First Aid kit should be on the premises.
- Comply with local regulations regarding access etc.
Administrative Requirements:
- Ensure that every incident however small either on the premises or on the water is reported on an Incident Report Form
Vessel Requirements:
- All vessels must comply with national legislation and local laws, with regard to construction and safety equipment.
- All vessels must be properly maintained and thoroughly cleaned.
- All vessels must have the necessary safety equipment on board and all equipment must be well maintained and in date.
Teaching Requirements:
- Ensure that all IYT courses are conducted according to the appropriate course syllabus outlines.
- Ensure that IYT training materials are supplied by IYT and used when conducting each course, to include instructor manuals, student manuals, lesson plans and exams.
- Ensure that the instructor complies with the appropriate instructor requirements and competence for each training level and that the course entry requirements for each level taught are met by all participants.
