BCIT Marine Campus School of Transportation British Columbia Institute of Technology

The British Columbia Institute of Technology Marine Campus signed an MOU with International Yacht Training four years ago to deliver the Master of Yachts 200grt both Coastal and Offshore. The campus is ideally situated on Vancouver harbour, and is the sole Merchant Marine campus in Western Canada. As well as training current and future officers, and ratings in the Merchant Marine, the campus decided to engage the large active yachting community to deliver their training needs. After consultation with this community we entered into partnership with IYT to deliver the IYT MCA approved courses. This was an ideal fit since this campus is the only MCA approved campus in North America delivering specific STCW training. During our partnership with IYT we have found our business and general dealings with the yachting community in Canada has flourished. We find IYT an excellent business partnership who understands our needs and is extremely pro active in addressing the worlds mega yacht community with regard to its training needs. We look forward to our continuing excellent relationship with IYT, and to continuing serving the Canadian yachting community in delivering the world recognized IYT training.
